The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna was founded in 1872.
Its focus is on teaching and research in renewable resources. There are 15 departments at the university including biotechnology, chemistry, crop sciences, applied genetics and cell biology, sustainable agricultural systems and economics and social science among others.
Within these departments, the school offers eight undergraduate programmes and 28 master's programmes. There are also continuing education programmes for mid-career professionals.
There are also three research centres focusing on agricultural sciences, bioeconomy and global change and sustainability.
