The Department of Neuroimaging is focused on the research and development of neuroimaging techniques from basic science to clinical application. We aspire to making brain imaging an essential clinical tool in both neurology and psychiatry as we devise innovative imaging methods to measure brain structure, function, physiology and metabolism.

About the role

Applications are invited to join a team of researchers exploring cognitive dysfunction in clinical populations. A Clinical Research Fellow position is available in Professor Steve Williams’ research group, based in the Department of Neuroimaging. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, setting up and conducting studies investigating the brain circuits underlying cognitive dysfunction in patients with schizophrenia and depression. The aim of this project is to combine innovative digital cognitive assessments and multimodal neuroimaging to identify mechanistic circuit-based markers of pathophysiology, paving the way for future development of more targeted novel treatments. The post will involve a diverse range of research activities, including screening and recruiting patients and healthy volunteers, conducting psychiatric assessments and medical reviews, and contributing to the collection of neuroimaging and other data.?

The successful candidate will have the opportunity - depending on their individual interests and ambitions - to get involved in data analysis and develop their research interests within this or any other ancillary projects. This role will lead to an excellent grounding in cutting-edge psychiatric research, cognitive assessment, and clinical evaluation, including developing skills in administering gold-standard diagnostic and clinical ratings, which will be useful for future research and clinical practice. In addition, the successful applicant will benefit from being part of cohesive and collaborative research group, will receive training and support to further their career objectives, and have opportunities to gain experience in analysis of cognition or neuroimaging data, research using virtual reality, computational modelling and contributing to peer-reviewed publications, if desired.?

This is a full time post (40 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31st Dec 2026.

	?Full GMC registration with valid license to practice.?
	Relevant clinical and/or research experience, particularly in psychosis and mood disorders (preferably beyond core psychiatry training)
	?Knowledge of basic research methods and study design in psychiatric research, including on the use of neuroimaging techniques or cognitive tasks to study mechanisms of disease in psychiatry?
	?Skills and experience relevant to the recruitment and clinical assessment of patients with psychiatric disorders?

Description

The Burt Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Post-doctoral Researcher to spearhead research on coral reef restoration. Using corals that have been identified as having uniquely high thermal tolerance from prior research, the candidate will focus on enhancing coral survival, growth and condition (health). The candidate will lead lab and field based restoration efforts, focusing on corals that have been identified by other team members as having unique thermal tolerance through stress assays or which have been developed from selective breeding programs, as well as ‘control’ corals. Th position will involve working on fragments and on sexually-produced larvae/spat, and conducting experiments to determine optimal conditions for survival/performance in lab (short- to mid-term) and field (mid- to long-term) settings.

The candidate will work under the supervision of?Prof. John Burt?and will be part of NYUAD’s Arabian Center for Climate and Environmental Sciences (ACCESS). Collaborating with a larger team working on various aspects of research around thermally resilient corals, the candidate will contribute to our growing body of research on the world’s most thermally tolerant coral populations.

The position will begin in mid-2025 (circa May/June, with some flexibility for the right candidate) and will be for a term of two or three years (length depending on the candidate’s interest, and potentially renewable depending on performance; funding is available for up to 5 years).

The candidate must hold a PhD in marine biology, ecology or related (must be completed by May 2025), an advanced SCUBA Certification with research based diving experience, demonstrated expertise in experimental design and quantitative analysis of ecological and environmental data, particularly in marine settings, experience in monitoring and analyzing coral condition and survivorship, ideally across multiple life stages and in lab (aquarium) and field settings, experience in coral restoration research, a track-record of first-author publications relevant to the position.

The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a postdoctoral associate to join this new initiative focus on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use. The successful applicant will join several fascinating projects on engineering novel approaches to improve the diagnosis and therapy of metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic disease. These projects entail computational modeling, device design and manufacturing, optimization of chemical, mechanical, and electrical characteristics, and preclinical experiments. CENTMED offers multidisciplinary training with a high degree of academic freedom among various high-impact translational projects. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students, ensuring the candidate learns valuable skills in writing manuscripts and grant proposals, advising fellow researchers, and establishing collaborations across disciplines.

Applicant must have a PhD in an engineering or biomedical-related field. Excellent skills relevant to the computational simulation of medical devices (3D solid modeling, simulation with ABAQUS, ANSYS and COMSOL Multiphysics) are required.?

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in the management of clinical trials and ideally with previous experience of working in a research environment. The successful candidate will work within the accredited UKCRC King’s Clinical Trials Unit (KCTU), providing administrative support to large multi-centre clinical trials. In addition to working with senior trial managers and other colleagues in KCTU, the post holder will work closely with the trial’s Chief Investigator and the KCTU’s Operational Director, to ensure rigorous trial standards are maintained

Duties will include:


	Manage administration for the study, and actively contributing to the research planning and development in partnership with Principal Investigators, Executive and Steering Groups and Study Teams.
	Prepare and support meetings, boards, and committees, including the coordination and distribution of briefing documents and background materials, drafting presentations, or taking minutes, as required
	Ensure all necessary approvals are in place, staff are appropriately trained, and recruitment is maximised at the study sites, ensuring timely recruitment of study participants into studies
	Develop working guidelines for the trial as necessary and manage all communications with the Sponsor organisation

About the role:

The Residence Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the residence, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained living environment for students and a positive workplace for staff. This includes managing reception duties, handling complaints, coordinating maintenance and contractor services, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

Operations Management


	Oversee all residence operations, including office and reception management, complaint resolution, and coordination with maintenance teams and external contractors.
	Act as the Health & Safety lead for the site, driving improvements and conducting regular risk assessments.
	Monitor occupancy levels and report vacant rooms to the Allocations team.
	Liaise with maintenance, cleaning, and pest control teams to ensure service levels are met.
