The School of Interdisciplinary Studies (SIS) was established to deepen interdisciplinary studies and scholarly collaboration. The SIS houses a number of interdisciplinary undergraduate programmes. The appointee will join the teaching team of the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Public Management and Smart Governance and is expected to contribute to high quality teaching.

The appointee will be expected to teach courses in Public Management, Social Research, and Public Finance, as well as engage in student advising and mentoring.

Requirements

Applicants should have (i) relevant postgraduate qualifications in Social Sciences, Public Management or relevant disciplines, (ii) experience in teaching relevant courses.

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.

The role involves working intensively with 30–50 ventures, helping them refine their business strategies, navigate challenges, and accelerate their growth. The Advisor will also immerse themselves in the broader startup ecosystem, building strategic relationships with incubators, accelerators, and industry partners to unlock opportunities like pop-up shops, markets, and partnerships that further the success of alumni founders.?

About the Job

As the Alumni Enterprise Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive support system for UEL’s founder community. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Founder Support & Business Development


	Mentor and advise early-stage ventures and freelancers.
	Guide founders in business development, market validation, and scaling strategies.
	Deliver insights on fundraising, investment readiness, marketing, and customer growth.


2. Community Building & Engagement


	Plan and execute events, workshops, and networking sessions.
	Manage and develop the ‘Millionaire Club’, a dedicated space for founders.
	Promote and celebrate the successes of our founder community.


3. Ecosystem Development & Partnerships


	Build relationships with incubators, accelerators, and industry partners.
	Secure commercial opportunities like pop-up shops and market access for alumni businesses.
	Represent UEL’s enterprise initiatives in external networks.


4. Programme Development & Continuous Improvement


	Design and implement a structured post-programme support offering.
