Duties and Responsibilities:

The appointee will join a research team specialising in social capital projects.? These projects aim to explore the concept of social capital in Chinese/Asian contexts and its functions among different populations, identify ways to engage and empower local stakeholders for social capital development in the Chinese/Asian contexts, and examine how social capital and built environment contribute to wellbeing


	Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI).
	Collaborate with the funder, local researchers, and community partners to ensure translational impact.?
	Prepare manuscripts for high-impact journals and present findings at conferences under the supervision of PI.?
	Assist the PI in project management, ethics applications, and supervision of junior researchers.?


Requirements:


	A PhD degree in Social Sciences.?
	Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software and qualitative tools.?
	Previous involvement in research studies in GPS and GIS technology is highly preferred.?
	Track record of scholarly output.?
	High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese).
	Experience working with community-based projects is highly desirable.?

Applications are invited for appointment as?Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit, School of Clinical Medicine?(Ref.: 531689), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in Bioethics, Philosophy, Law, Social Sciences or a related field, and experience in medical ethics or health humanities. Clinical background is preferred. Applicants should have a proven track record in both teaching and research in bioethics or any of the diverse fields that contribute to the ethical and humanistic dimensions of medical research and practice. Excellent communication skills that inspire student learning in medical ethics and enable meaningful dialogues and collaborations at the interface of medicine, healthcare and a range of humanities disciplines as well as research interests that promote partnerships with clinical disciplines, are desirable.

The appointee will be expected to (i) teach and refine a medical ethics curriculum for undergraduate medical and health professions students, (ii) conduct and publish high quality research work, (iii) supervise students conducting research at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and (iv) assume service/administrative responsibilities.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. ?Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.

If you have great customer relationship management skills, ability to work as part of a team, whilst also able to prioritise and manage own workload, we want to hear from you. Experience of design and delivery of marketing and communications are desirable and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel is essential.?

We are now looking for a International Trainee for the?Una Europa?team working under International Affairs.??

As a trainee, your main tasks will be to support the planning and execution of a researcher mobility pilot and to work with student engagement-related tasks. The UH Una Europa researcher mobility pilot is an internal instrument to offer opportunities for researchers to get to know our Una Europa partners and build connections to initiate new research collaboration. Your role would be to take part in the planning and execution of the mobility programme, its instructions, and to create an evaluation process for the pilot. Other tasks of the trainee are related to working with the UH Una Europa student community, called the Local Student Task Force (LTF). The LTF organizes student-focused events and activities on themes related to Una Europa and your role would be to support the LTF to develop their work to become a thriving student community.

As a trainee, you will work closely and in collaboration with the Una Europa team. Your tasks will include:


	supporting the Project Manager in planning and implementing the researcher mobility pilot
	administrative and communication tasks related to organizing the researcher mobility pilot
	planning an evaluation process for the pilot
	task related to organizing the work of the Local Student Task Force
	other supportive administrative tasks and other work that align with your interests.


The specific focus of your responsibilities can be defined based on your experience, skills, and interests.??

We expect you to have fluency in spoken and written English. You have a proactive way of working and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
