A single system for the accumulation and transfer of students' learning credit should encompass both further and higher education, David Melville, chief executive of the Further Education Funding Council, said this week. He said that credit transfer should mean "the same automatic entitlement to progression between a group of institutions that would exist within any one of those institutions".
