Entries have opened for the 21st edition of the annual Times Higher Education Awards, widely known as the ¡°Oscars of higher education¡±.

Universities in the UK and Ireland wishing to put themselves forward have until?11.55pm on 9 June to submit their entries.

This year the awards span 20 categories covering a wide range of university activity, including the prestigious University of the Year title.

The 2025 awards will see the addition of a new category, Specialist Institution of the Year, covering institutions that offer a majority of their courses in one broad subject area.

At the awards ceremony ¨C taking place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 13 November ¨C a new recipient will receive this year¡¯s?THE Outstanding Achievement Award, decided by THE¡¯s senior team. It follows veteran broadcaster Melvyn Bragg being honoured at last year¡¯s ceremony.

Shortlisted entries will be announced on 4 September and winners will be decided by a panel of expert judges.
