The Diary wishes to apologise for suggesting that Believe Nothing , which stars Rik Mayall as Adonis Cnut, would be any good.

The first episode was not so bad as to quash hopes that the second would be better. Indeed, The Diary was amused at Professor Cnut's attempts to get the British proletariat to eat genetically modified food. (He sent his servant to win TV quiz show Get Rich Quick and claim that this brain power was due to eating GM food.) But last week's efforts to make up in puerile inanity what the episode lacked in substance left The Diary cold.
