One advantage of having a partner who is an academic (“Married to the(ir) job: living with an academic”, Features, 20 October) is that one can moan about the NSS, TEF, REF, QAA, Hefce, KIS, CSTs and MSTs without wasting time explaining the abbreviations and acronyms.
