University of Oxford The university has proposed to confer an honorary degree (Doctor of Civil Law) by diploma on Roman Herzog, president of the Federal Republic of Germany.
LLD: Jane Salvage, editor of the Nursing Times, former staff nurse at the Royal London Hospital and commentator on the British nursing scene via the Nursing Mirror, Nursing Standard and Nursing Times.
University of Plymouth MSc: John Jemmett, senior regional trials officer for the National Institute of Agricultural Botany, has been awarded an honorary degree in recognition of his valuable advice to South-west farmers on crop and grass varieties.
