(Photograph) - Gloucester went public on Monday with its University for Gloucester Project, under which a university would be built on the city's disused quayside.
Consultant Sir Christopher Ball (above) said: "This project emphasises the ever-increasing continuum between further education, higher education, and beyond into continuing education." The project organisers said: "We believe that in the next century a city without a university will be as rare and as isolated as a nation without an airport."
