Sir Ron Garrick, chief executive of the Weir Group, is to chair the committee investigating Scottish higher education as part of Sir Ron Dearing's committee of inquiry. There is growing impatience in Scotland to know the rest of the group's membership and how it will feed information into the main inquiry.
