The Numerical Algorithms Group is celebrating 25 years in mathematical software. Founded by Brian Ford and Steve Hague at Nottingham University, NAG moved to Oxford in 1973 and now has a staff of nearly 100. Perhaps more remarkable than the company's longevity is the continuing rude health of the Fortran language, invented in 1956. Fortran programs are still a major part of NAG's business.
