There is growing evidence that marijuana may be helpful in the treatment of chronic pain, so I thought for a moment that approaching old age was about to become a little more pleasant when I read of a university consortium looking into novel therapies for arthritis (“Joint effort”, Campus round-up, 4?July). Did I misread the headline?
