Over recent months I, too, have received a number of emails from ac.uk addresses - among them, Portsmouth, Southampton and Huddersfield - inviting me to subscribe to pornographic sites or to clear my debts. Until your report ("Porn site confused with university", THES, February 2), I had assumed the originators were enterprising students seeking to supplement their meagre incomes.
