John Ross joined Times Higher Education?as?APAC editor in February 2018. He was previously higher education and science correspondent with The Australian newspaper. He has won the National Press Club’s Higher Education Journalist of the Year award three times, most recently in 2022, and has been shortlisted six times. He holds a communications degree from what is now the University of Technology Sydney. He swims in the Pacific Ocean every day, drinks too much coffee and plays Galician bagpipes quite badly.
